Modern Spiritism has been brought into public notice so often, that the present attempt to deal logically with the principles and assumptions of this form of necromancy, may scarcely cause a ripple in the great sea of opinion; yet I shall endeavour to make my observations useful to those who are in quest of truth.
If there be one unanswerable argument in favour of the system which I am to investigate, the thousands of difficulties and objections which may be urged against the system, ought not to be deemed sufficiently strong to set it aside. Modern psychomancy if supported by but one conclusive argument, will survive all possible objections which may be brought against it.
